Green Printing Listed as One of Top 10 Invents for Press and Publishing Industry in 2010

2010 is the last year of the “Eleventh Five-year Plan” as well as a crucial year for the structural reform of press and publishing industry. Under the guidance of scientific outlook on development, the reform presented many features. Especially after President Hu Jintao’s talk at the 22th Collective Learning of the Members of the CCCPC Political Bureau on July 23, the press and publishing industry accelerated its pace for reform and development.

Top 10 invents for press and publishing industry are selected as follows:

1. Release of policies aiming to promote industry development
2. Proposing of the strategic objective to build a powerful country for press and publishing
3. Breakthrough for public listing, restructuring, and cooperation
4. Second modification of Copyright Law
5. Active participation in disaster relief
6. Withdraw of newspaper evaluation mechanism
7. Promotion of green printing
8. Shutting down of over 60,000 pornographic websites nationwide
9. Carrying out of educational activities aiming to eradicate false report
10. Central publishing houses’ transformation into enterprises

To promotion green printing, the General Administration of Press and Publication of PRC signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement of Carrying out Green Printing with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, aiming to strengthen the policy support for the green printing for the printing enterprises and eliminate backward technologies so as to accelerate the transformation and upgrade for printing industry.
